Summary

West & Stem designed a new 2,400 square foot addition to and renovated the existing 13,000 sf of the Highland Presbyterian Church Activity Building in Winston-Salem, NC.  Construction of the facility was completed in February of 2014.  West and Stem reworked the use of the building to accommodate the ongoing and present needs of the church.  The process included removing the old unused stage, relocating and enlarging the kitchen to the back of the building, creating more storage, adding new restrooms and showers for use as an emergency shelter, and adding much needed classrooms, a youth room and reception space.   The addition will also address water leakage concerns by replacing the roof and repointing the brick.  West & Stem also developed marketing material to assist the church in their fundraising efforts.  This is an excellent example of West and Stem working and communicating with a  large committee to help develop and meet the goals and needs for the church body.
