Summary
One of the original campus buildings built in 1954, Wait Chapel recently underwent a major restoration. West & Stem was able to navigate the complexities of this renovation by assembling a team that could thoroughly and confidently assess the condition of the building, as well as come up with design and construction solutions that were worthy of such an iconic building. The scope included:
- Widen the Chapel’s ability to host events of all types
- Complete the renovations in a way that preserves it’s original appearance.
- Increase toilet count and accessibility
- Replace seating
- Improve flexibility of the stage
- Gain elevator access to all levels
- Protect the pipe organ during construction
- Redesign the focal centralized drop ceiling
